Dec 01 2005 - Private Test Server Open
private test server will open today to which all tutors, counsellors and gamemasters are invited. If you belong to one of these groups, please have a look at the internal tutor board to find out more details. Our helper team will test the new features for this year's Christmas update.

Please understand that there will be no public test server this time.

The Christmas update will be released as soon as the testing is over. The new update will bring many exciting new features and graphics. At night, lanterns and torches will let Tibia shine in colourful lights. The ships have been newly designed as well as all ground textures, water, mountains and roofs.

Like already mentioned in the last update teaser, the mana regeneration will be raised which means that all instant spells can be cast more quickly. Of course, we have adjusted everything that is effected by the increased mana regeneration such as mana potions or the amount of mana that is needed to reach the next magic level. Many of you already know by now that wands will be introduced for young sorcerers and druids. Apart from getting new names, the wands that are in the game will be changed in value and rarity. Therefore, we advise all players not to trade with wands until the update has been released.

e would like to ask you to participate in this week's votings. There are 3 votings altogether. All of them concern the topic "payment methods". We are looking for ways to improve our service in that area, so please take the time to help us by stating your opinion. Usually, only Premium Account players are allowed to vote, however, this time we like to invite all free account players to take part, too. All you need to participate is one character on your account that is at least level 10. Please have a look at our voting section and submit your vote now!

Also this week, we are happy to introduce you to a new supported fansite. On MyTibia.com you find everything connected with trades translated into 8 different languages!

Nov 24 2005 - Final Update Teaser and New Supported Fansite
ore details on the Christmas Update!

In addition to greatly improved new graphics that can be found all over Tibia, the Christmas update will also introduce the first step of a revised vocation and game balancing. It will only cover a limited part of the balancing problems in Tibia, so further adjustments for all vocations will follow in future updates.
This year's Christmas update will mainly concern druids and sorcerers of level 40 and below. As these classes have learnt to master the arcane forces of magic, they will now be able to wield powerful spell wands in combat. Those spell wands, which work in a way that is similar to regular weapons, will allow druids and sorcerers to gain experience points quicker in order to make up for the disadvantages these vocations have at lower levels when compared to knights and paladins. Magic wands can only be used by sorcerers and druids. There will be several types that differ in power and level requirement. When used in combat, they will consume a small amount of mana points with every hit which will count towards the magic level as usual. Spell wands can be bought in shops or looted from creatures.
Furthermore, the mana regeneration speed will be increased, and the mana costs of all spells will be adjusted accordingly. However, instant spells will become cheaper and therefore also more effective. Note that the maximum of mana will stay the same, so higher levels will now be needed to cast spells. As the magic system was introduced at a time when a level 50 character was still considered to be high-level, we have decided to readjust the required spell level minimums to the current situation. Being able to cast a spell will now depend on your experience level rather than on your magic level. You will not forget spells you have already learnt, but you will be unable to use them unless you have achieved the newly required level.
Again, these changes are only a first step into a whole new direction that will eventually bring exciting changes to all Tibian vocations!

Even though the ships will still work the same like before, they will now appear in a new design. Do not miss the chance to take a peek at the great new graphics on our supported fansites.

Again, we would like to welcome a new supported fansite. Many of you will already know the amazing site of Mr. Scriptman erig.net. It is that site to look at if you are interested in all kind of statistical information and resources about Tibia.

Nov 18 2005 - Update Teaser and New Supported Fansite
hat has Santa in his sack for you this Christmas?

This Christmas Tibia will get a new look. You will discover new graphics wherever you go. Just look around to see newly shaped mountains, new water, animated waves on the Tibian coast, a new design for grass and much more. But watch out, if you get too close to the sea, you might get wet feet!
Of course, we have also continued to expand Tiquanda. Eerie and mysterious dungeons have been discovered in the dense jungle recently, and until now nobody knows what is hidden in the dark. Rumour has it that gruesome beasts dwell down there to guard valuable treasures.
Moreover, there have been calls for help by some inhabitants of Tiquanda. Brave warriors tell tales about strange incidents in the ape settlement Banuta. So if you are looking for a challenge, you will definitely enjoy an excursion to the jungle!

First screenshots can be found at our supported fansites. To get a first impression of the new graphics, do not miss to take a look there.

Also we would like to welcome tibiamx.com.mx, our newest supported fansite. This site is especially interesting for Spanish-speaking players who will find interesting articles, helpful guides, jokes and information about Mexican conventions here.

Nov 16 2005 - Technical Update
n preparation for the Christmas update, some important technical adjustments must be made. For this reason all game servers will be offline today, November 16th, until 18:00 CET. Please note that this is not the annual Christmas update yet. You will hardly see any changes in the game. A noticeable adjustment we have made is the increased durability of spears, throwing stars and knives. Also, items or creatures that are roped up from a hole will now end up on the field the rope user is standing on.

When you log into the game a patch for your client will be downloaded automatically. If you encounter any problems, you can alternatively download the new client 7.55 from this website or from some of our supported fansites.

Please excuse any inconvenience due to the downtime.

See you in Tibia!

Nov 14 2005 - Changes in the Team
oday 11 counsellors will leave the helper team. Mostly, they do not have the time anymore that is needed to hold this position. We would like to thank them all for the good work they have provided in the past.

Thank you Avera York, Chesterfield, Cleomatra, Dairuin, Dari, Indee, Margon, Marinaxy, Montagin, Petros and Shapeshifter.

The gap that has arisen from their retirement will be closed by new gamemasters that will be introduced to you next week.
Also, we would like to introduce a new Customer Support member. Please give a very warm welcome to Iscen!

See you in Tibia!

Nov 10 2005 - Public Test Server Open
fter some internal testing the test server is now open to the public. This time we need to test some technical adjustments we have made, so there are no new features to try out. All you need to do is login and have fun. However, all level doors have been locked, so you will be unable to solve most quests.

This time, we set up two test servers. All characters which play on an European world (e.g. Antica) can join the server "Testa" whereas all characters on an American world (e.g. Amera) are able to enter "Testera". Moreover, all characters who own a house on Antica will also own it on Testa; characters who own a house on Amera will also own it on Testera.

To log into the test server please make a copy of your Tibia folder, execute the copied Tibia client, check the option Test Server Login in the network preferences and login. You will then receive a patch for your client. The player data were taken from the backup of October, 31st, so you may have to use your old password. Please note that you will not be able to log into the official servers with the test version of the client!

If you should detect an error in the game, please report it to a tutor, counsellor or gamemaster.

Please understand that the test servers have only a limited capacity. Therefore, please try to join the test servers some hours later if you cannot log into it right away.

Update: The public test server has ended and we would like to thank all participating players for their help.

Have fun in Tibia!

Nov 08 2005 - Update of the Tibia Rules
he Tibia Rules have been updated. For a better understanding, we have elaborated the comments of many rules.

The comments of the name rules now include additional explanations concerning guild names. Also, the publishing of links is now officially considered to be advertising content which is not related to the game, so it may lead to a punishment. Note that this includes all photo album hosts. However, links that lead to the official website and the supported fansites, as well as links shown in the guild section of this website, if they do not violate other rules, are still allowed. For this reason we have also removed the link section in the personal information on the account page.

Several minor adjustments have been made to most of the Tibia Rules. Therefore, we would like to ask everybody to read all of them again carefully and to follow them at all times in the game and on the website.

Kind regards,
Your CipSoft Team
